Alton (VA), May 18th , 2022

After months of research and development on the SCR1, the world’s first all-electric amateur touring race car, the Scalar Performance Team is ready to participate in its first National Auto Sport Association (NASA) sanctioned race, during HyperFest’s 3-day weekend hosted at Virginia International Raceway from Friday May 19th through Sunday May 21st.

Since its global launch at SEMA 2022 in Las Vegas, the Scalar Performance team has been busy developing the SCR1 prototype #1. The highly anticipated all-electric race car went through extensive testing, such as aerodynamic wind-tunnel testing at Ontario Tech ACE Climatic Wind in Toronto, Canada (video), suspension testing on the Öhlins USA Vehicle Dynamic Simulator in North Carolina (video) and on-track testing with EV specialist and professional race car driver Randy Pobst at Atlanta Motorsports Park (video), the official test track and American headquarters for Scalar Performance.

Canadian race car driver, Alana Carter will be behind the wheel of the SCR1. She has officially joined the Scalar Performance Team to drive the SCR1 for the duration of the 2023 racing season. In 2022, Alana won Formula Woman, an international competition in the United Kingdom where the winner received a spot on the Formula Woman Team competing in the British GT Cup Series.
